Limited tools means you're forced to learn to use what you have & encourages you to use things in an unorthodox way that is often original. I personally have found that some of the best creations come from working with a small, restricted amount of resources. I know you said you're happy with logic, but after I switched from logic to ableton it made chopping, stretching & filtering samples so much faster in the workflow.

I'd really recommend learning how to create your own sounds & try experimenting with samples differently to create new textures because that will open lots of doors. Tbh though I've often felt like I don't have enough sounds even if I have lots of vsts. On os x too & I managed to get an omnisphere crack.
